NON-VARIETAL HONEY
You may notice that we do not have a big range of single varietal honeys. In fact, the only varietal honey we (our bees) produce is Marri. The rest of our honey is simply that. Honey.
AFFORDABLE PURE HONEY
Larger scale commercial beekeepers are able to produce numerous single varietal (monofloral) honeys as they ‘chase the flow’ by moving their hives to locations that are surrounded by predominately the one species of blossom.

We do not ‘chase the flow’ like the larger commercial beekeepers. We prefer to keep our bees close to home. Close to our hearts! So our bees are foraging on everything available at the time.
NECTAR & BLOSSOM
Bees can travel up to 5km from their hive when collecting nectar to make their honey. And the nectar they collect can be from multiple sources. In fact it is almost guaranteed that it will be from multiple sources. And we don't get to choose what those sources are. The bees choose.
WHAT'S IN OUR HONEY
We document what is in flower at the time our bees are collecting their nectar. But we do not know what ratios our bees are using to blend their honey. That’s secret bee business.
And every hive is different. While one colony may forage mostly on one source, the colony sitting right next to it may not be so fussy and prefer more of a smorgasbord and opt to forage from everything available at that time.

So why Marri?
Marri is our main ‘flow’ in the southwest of WA. And here in the Ferguson Valley we are surrounded by it. And the bees absolutely love it! Which is why we are able to provide Marri Honey as a standalone product. So, with the exception of our Marri Honey, we choose to sell our honey under a non-varietal label.
